Whether you are looking to touch your toes or to do the splits these poses are what you should be practicing on a daily basis to reach your goals. The key is little and often as well as a lot of patience and persistence. Even if you spend 5 minutes doing 3 of these poses each day you will start to see the results. Be patient with your body and work with your breath, some of these variations you may not be able to achieve right away but with time you will get there.
